In the summary it is necessary to show that the candidate has all the necessary personal, business and professional qualities. For the leader, these are:
systemic thinking
ability to make decisions
result orientation
sociability
leadership,
stress resistance,
constant self-development,
responsibility for their actions,
experience of delegation of authority.
We will analyze two options for the development of events.
Candidate without managerial experience
Suppose a candidate does not yet have experience as a manager, but wants to become one.
Perhaps at the last place of work or even at the time of college (but not earlier than 7 years ago) you were responsible for a project: for example, catering for employees, holding a children's or charity celebration.
Describe how you promoted the idea, how you gathered and rallied a team, how many people you managed to organize, how you distributed tasks and motivated your colleagues to complete them. Did you meet deadlines, avoid conflicts?
Tell us how and what material resources you disposed of. Did you manage to allocate the budget correctly? Perhaps you had to decide on the selection and purchase of gifts or prizes? Perhaps you had to agree on cooperation with some organizations?
A description of the results is also very important information. Write how the project ended and which had positive consequences.
Candidate with experience
Suppose a candidate already has experience as a manager.
In addition to basic literacy requirements, a resume should be clearly structured. The goals and logic of building a career should be understood.
Write in which types of management you have shown yourself most vividly: anti-crisis, design, operational, strategic, etc.
Be sure to show if you have gone from an ordinary performer to a leader in a company.
Write how many people report directly and functionally to you. What kind of specialists were they? Which departments?
An important section in the executive’s resume is the experience of personnel management. Describe in detail whether there is experience in conducting interviews, organizing and conducting assessment procedures, developing tangible and intangible motivational schemes, and training and developing staff.
Write, was it possible to plan and distribute the budget of the unit, did you have to deal with providing the unit with material and technical resources? Was a competition or tender organized?
Results and Achievements
It is very important to describe the results. Better if they are measurable: numbers always look attractive in this section. What can I write about here?
For those who sell - about the growth of the customer base, sales.
For buyers - about the growth of the supplier base, new markets, increase in assortment.
For all managers - about the career growth of employees within the company, about the development of procedures and regulations, about optimization in any field.
For project managers and those who are engaged in creativity - about completed projects.
For those who work in logistics or accounting - the introduction of automation.
For those who are building - about the constructed and commissioned facilities.
The last, no less important section is education. According to it, it should be clear that interest in the profession is supported by fresh theoretical knowledge and practical skills. There must necessarily be a management education - in personnel management, projects, changes, risks, etc.
Now, analyze how your resume is written? What competencies are missing and where to get them?
